Some notes on the matches:
- Mike McCall, Erik Stankiewcz, David Davidson, Anthony White, and AJ Vizcarrondo all went 5-0 on the day for the varsity and Anthony "technique tony" siwek and Gary Robinson both went undefeated on jv
- David Davidson and Mike McCall increased their career win totals to 88 and 86 respectively. Both will have a chance to surpass 100 career wins by the end of the season.
- Gary Robinson went 1-0 in his only varsity match increasing his varsity record to 2-0.
- Gary also beat a wrestler from Blair Academy and Easton in the same day....
- Coach Rick lost us his first team point of the season and 5th for his career. he only has to get thrown out of 5 more tournaments and lose 13 more points to surpass the career totals of former coach Bill Hunter.
North wrestling returns to action this weekend. We wrestle Germantown Academy on friday night at GA and travel to Abington to compete in the postponed Abington Duals on Saturday.
WRESTLE-PALOOZA
yesterday, the north catholic wrestling team had their annual wrestle-palooza inter-team wrestling tournament. after 2+ hours of intense wrestling, Anthony White defeated Jeremy Reith in the ultimate rideout to win 3-2 and become 2010's wrestle-palooza champion. Congrats also go out to coach canc for this stunning fall over coach cosimo to take 3rd place and finish on the podium for the first time in his career. Here is a picture of coach cosimo on the medal stand....
as for coach savage, he was the victim of shady seeding politics and even shadier officiating and dropped both of his matches to go 0-2 on the day. he had to defeat coach mascino and coach murphy to advance. after giving up 50+ pounds to each coach and wrestling like the warrior he is, he lost 4-2 (in OT) to coach rick, and 6-4 to coach teddy. if some of you dont know what they look like, i have attached some photos.....

Lastly: the north catholic wrestling beef-n-beer will be held this saturday at 7pm at north catholic. tickets are $25 and can be bought at the door. hope to see you there.

jim savage needs a bottle for all his crying. he also needs to come to grips with the facts that he is not the "lead dog" in that wrestling room anymore. we compare him to a yorkie, alotta bark not alotta bite. after yesterdays performance, the team all pitched in 4 dollars a person and we are getting a personilized doormat commerating jim savages last place finish in the wrestle palozza. it will read "james savage-26th place." and everyone that enters 614 belgrade will know what is was like to be rick mascino and ted murphy for the day, wiping our dirty feet all over savage.
RECAP OF SAVAGES DAY AT WRESTLE PALOZZA
1. parade around with a false sense of entitlment during warmup.
2. tell kids, who were refs, that if they didnt make calls that benefitted him, they would run.
3. wrestle mascino and dive into the wall every time ricky was in on a shot, hence stopping the match.
4. lose that match by being out hustled, out muscled and out techniqued.
5. run into the corner and sulk like a nine year old.
6. thirty minutes later gets taken down in six seconds by ted murphy. get a legit reversal and bogus back points. (threatened the ref, AJ.) also note i felt bad after riding savage out for 5+ minutes last year so i took it easy on him this year on top.
7. used injury time to make the match only about 3 minutes.
8. in the third period gave up a reversal and back points but forced AJ to take away the back points.
9. neutral in 3rd period = taken down in 11 seconds and quits.
10. runs to the coaches office, showers and returns in 25 minutes fully dressed, such a sore loser.
11. berates 13-17 old officials the remainder of the tourney in a vein attempt to help coach canz, his prodege, place on the medal stand.
11. goes to drink his sorrows away and complains to every single patron of numerous bars that he was hosed.
