Senior Goalkeeper, John McCarthy Selected as National Scholar Athlete

FALCON NETMINDER CONTINUES TO RECEIVE ACCOLADES AND RECOGNITION

Falcon goalkeeper John McCarthy, a 2009 All-Catholic and All-State honoree, has added to his hardware being named to the 2009 NATIONAL SOCCER COACHES ASSOCIATION SCHOLAR ALL-AMERICAN TEAM. McCarthy, a four-year starter, led North to the 2008 Philadelphia Catholic League and City titles and has captained the squad for the past two seasons. He was the leading vote-getter in this year's All-Catholic balloting. In addition to his duties with the soccer team, John also kicked and punted for the football team, and was instrumental in the Falcons win on Thanksgiving Day versus arch-rival Frankford.

John will be honored on Saturday, January 16, at the National Soccer Coaches Association Convention being held in Philadelphia.

Currently, John is a member of the Matchfit Chelsea Academy Team where he is their number one keeper. Please join us in congratulating John and the entire extended McCarthy family on this special occasion.
